CB064047In the fourth and fifth chapters of Ephesians, Paul describes the walk and service of the believer as dear children of God.  He “beseeches [us] to walk worthy of the calling with which [we] were called, with all lowliness and gentlenss, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”  (ch.4 v. 1-3)

He continues in verse eleven to remind us that “He himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry…that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love…”

Ladies, some of us are being ‘tossed to and fro!’

twilight-movie-posterThe book series known as The Twilight Saga, with its books and now a movie, is taking our families by storm and they are sinking to new depths!

Paul quotes the Old Testament in verse 26 saying, ” ‘Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,’  for we are members of one another.”  Then his quotes the Psalms, ” ‘Be angry, and do not sin…’ “

Well, I am angry!

Christian ministries and women’s groups are not taking a stand against these books or the movie!

This is outrageous!

Here is what one wise movie reviewer said:

“Twilight takes occult darkness, introduced in Potter, to deeper, decadent fathoms: overt vampirism, acceptable blood-sucking (in this movie its only animal blood – later? Wait and see!) and sexual lust for the possessed soul (made appealing in its fictionalized form!). The books, akin to the Potter’s series, promote and familiarize their audience with magick, Wicca, supernatural powers and demon possession.

But what is beyond alarming is that Christians are seduced by satanic deception and have succumbed to Twilight’s fascination of dark wisdom, a power Scripture warns against – loving evil more than good (Psalm 52:3), and placing what the world admires before what God requires. ”  Caryl Matriciana  @ Caryl Productions

Returning to Scripture…

Paul exhorts us to “have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.”   He continues by reminding us that “all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light…see then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”  (Eph.5:11-17)

Friends, it is my desire to ‘bear with you in love’  the  burden of exposing the ‘evils of this day’.  We must ‘be angry, but not sin’ while we ‘speak the truth to our neighbors’ concerning the dangers of these books and this movie.

Please join me in ‘redeeming the time’ we have left on this earth!
