Outside my window~a bright summer morning

I am hearing~birds singing happily as the day begins

I thankful for~the wisdom that God has given my husband

Remembering~that God is sovereign and as His child I must walk in obedience to His will for my life.

Around the house~much less mess than yesterday!   🙂

I am reading~Thinking Biblically by John MacArthur

Pondering these words~”What do we mean when we say Scripture is sufficient?  We mean that the Bible is an adequate guide for all matter of faith and conduct.”  -John MacArthur  (pg. 22 of above book)

I am going~to work inside today considering it’s forecast to be 98 degrees here. 

From the kitchen~chocolate zucchini cake * left-over smoked ribs & turkey * bread baking * peach smoothies

From the learning rooms~week two after returning from vacation

I am thinking~I need to find a history/geography curriculum for my son.

Noticing that~I’m more motivated to get things accomplished when I can stay home.

I am creating~a new parlor where the classroom used to be.

A few plans for the rest of the week~computer class & swim meet tomorrow * daughter to pediatrician for physical Thursday * dinner with friends Saturday night

One of my favorite things~fresh cucumbers from the garden.

Outside my window ~ a bright, chilly morning, 

Around the house ~   throw blankets * swim team paperwork * stacks of books

I am hearing ~ my son enjoying his breakfast * birds chirping

Remembering ~ a busy Saturday with friends * a quiet Sunday * a close call with a Copperhead

I am thankful ~ for God’s protection from that Copperhead! 

From the learning rooms ~ finalizing chemistry & general science * last writing class * a change in literature & history for son

From the kitchen ~ chicken casserole * Italian hamburger soup * onion-dill pan rolls

I am going ~ to town tonight to pick up a new area rug for the family room!

I am hoping ~ that my basil survived  the powerful storm last night

I am reading ~ just finished Death of a Guru and hope to do a book review soon.  Picked up Stepping Heavenward again in hopes of finishing.

One of my favorite things ~ the smells of spring

I am thinking & praying ~ about my neighbor who went to the hospital yesterday with a heart rate of 214!

A few plans for the rest of the week ~ errands in town today * cleaning the camper * mulch the veggie gardens

Outside my window ~ a brightening morning with birds singing.

Around the house ~ coffe pot cycling * school books on the table * dishes to put away

I am thankful for ~ quiet time in the morning to study Scripture and pray

I am hearing ~ alarm clocks going off upstairs

Pondering this thought ~ “Why among Christians is there not as great an outcry opposing false gospels that destroy life for eternity as there is against the destruction of life in abortion?”  –Mike Gendron

From the kitchen ~ lots of beef recipes (we just bought 1/3 of a cow) * make-your-own-cake mix * herbed pork roast * BBQ sandwiches with left-over pork roast

I am going ~ to homeschool co-op * riding lessons * finish laundry * book a few more campsites for camping trip

Currently reading ~ Death of a Guru by Rabi R. Maharaj–It’s about a devout Hindu who is raised to be a Brahman priest but is converted to Christianity.

From the garden ~ cabbage & garlic from last fall is growing beautifully * corn, cukes, beans, cantaloupe, zuchinni, tomatoes, peppers, spinach all in and sprouting * second batch of corn, okra & yellow squash need planting * electrical fencing half-way completed     :^)

A few plans for the rest of the week ~ errands in town * homeschool mom’s social * appointment for portraits of kids 

Hoping that ~ Hubby can take some time off this week to finish up a few chores at home before we head out on our camping trip.

I am remembering ~ lots of yardwork  * family gatherings on the front porch * a lovely dinner with a young couple who may move into the area

Outside my window ~ a gray morning; however, lots of birds singing

Around the house ~ my son sitting next to me eating his cereal * the dog settling back down after her morning chow * dishes left to wash from dinner last night

I am hearing ~ the pitter-patter of my daughter walking around upstairs heading for the shower

I am thankful for ~ a lovely visit with my mother-in-law.  We miss her already. * travel mercies from the Lord for her and my husband

Remembering ~ sweet 16 celebrations with giggling girls * hard-working men putting up fencing and mowing fields * quality time on the front porch enjoying the fabulous spring weather

Thinking about ~ my mom’s continuing health problems

From the kitchen ~ grilled chicken * left-overs * Ezekiel bread * wheat bread * breakfast fruit smoothies

From the learning rooms ~ last module in science * final papers for writing * re-thinking Omnibus curriculum for son

One of my favorite things ~ seeing my veggie seeds sprouting in the garden!

A few plans for the rest of the week ~ making doctor appointments * photography appointment * staying home as much as possible!

Looking forward to ~ the end of homeschool co-op classes and college classes

Outside my window ~ a Barred Owl calling ~ We usually get a mating pair each spring.  Here’s what they look like:

I am thankful for ~ a resurrected Savior * He is risen indeed!

Around the house ~ paperwork on the kitchen table * Bibles stacked up next to my chair * the dog ‘asking’ for her chow-chow

I am thinking ~ we need some rain to water the gardens

From the learning rooms~ week 7–OFF!   Yippee!

From the kitchen ~ lasagna * ham & corn chowder * left-over BBQ venison wraps

I am going ~ clothes shopping with my son who is growing like a weed!

On my mind ~ my daughter turns 16 on Sunday

Remembering ~ God’s mercy and provision during my mom’s surgery last week

I am hoping ~ the spring cleaning will get done by the cleaning fairies   😉

A few plans for the rest of the week ~ get weed & feed on the lawn * my desk cleaned off * taxes finished *  a birthday celebration

Looking forward to ~ May 8th — the first day of our camping trip out west!

I am remembering ~ games of Phase 10 * new gardens to plant * family worship *

From the learning rooms ~ progress is being made * last week of 6-week session

From the kitchen ~ 15-bean & ham soup * grilled shrimp & brown rice * venison barbecue

Noticing that ~ many people see the world so differently than I do

Pondering these words ~ “Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them [the house of Israel], and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and miltiply them, and I will set My sanctuary in their midst forevermore.”  Ezekiel 37:26

On my mind ~ my mom’s surgery today to clear blockage in her artery in her leg

Thankful for ~ the fact that my aunts can be with my mom to help her

Some plans for the rest of the week ~ coffee with a friend on Thursday * some spring cleaning in master bedroom & bath * finalizing camping reservations for May

I am looking forward to ~ a warm sunny weekend to work in the garden and enjoy the pleasures of the front porch

One of my favorite things ~ Scottish shortbread that Hubby brings me from the UK!

I am hearing ~ a crunchy bagel being eaten

Around the house ~ WII-motes and games * lots of new books * papers to grade

I am remembering ~ a lovely weekend with family * walks through downtown * a new apartment for mother-in-law! * sitting on the front porch

Noticing that ~ gardens are being tilled

I am thinking ~ “Where are the seeds that I ordered?!”

Pondering this Scripture ~ “…His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”  2 Peter 1:3-4   

From the learning rooms ~ plugging away with week 5

From the kitchen ~ left overs — Italian beef(venison) & barley stew * chili * bread making

I finished reading ~ The Secret Cypher — It was ok; a very easy read.  Now I’m returning to Stepping Heavenward to try and finish. 

One of my favorite things ~ daylight savings time!  😎

Looking forward to ~ a long, camping trip in May.  We will be visiting some of the major national parks out west and stopping by the Creation Museum on the way home.

A few plans for the rest of the week ~ bill paying * plans to the drafter * homeschool general meeting Thursday night * hopefully some garden bed prep.

Around the house ~ all’s quiet; still recovering from a long drive home Sunday

I am thankful for~ the sovereign will of God

I am remembering~ blooming camelias and azaleas * a neighbor’s funeral * precious time with my mom

I am noticing ~ daffodil buds and other spring flowers about to bloom   😎

I am thinking ~ about my vegetable garden * what new to try this year?

From the kitchen ~ Ezekiel bread (yesterday’s failed) * shrimp & risotto * roasted chicken * calzones * a smoker-full of yummies this weekend!

I am going ~ to depend on God’s strength for me today

I am hoping ~ for positive results from my mom’s ct scan today.

One of my favorite things ~ coming home to a clean house.  Thanks, Honey!

Praising God for ~ the blessings of His perfect Grace & Mercy, which is new every morning!

I am thankful for ~  family worship of prayer, study and singing * opportunities to serve * safe travels for Hubby during the latest storm

Remembering ~ a long hike in the woods * family games * a yummy breakfast made by the kids

Around the house ~ hymn book on the piano * window frames taped for painting * sounds of waking children

From the kitchen ~ enchilada lasagna * chicken wings * grilled, marinated salmon

I am hearing ~ my son eating his breakfast * the whirr of the fireplace

Around the house ~ beautiful flowers from my mother-in-law in honor of my wedding anniversary * unusual tidyness

Remembering ~ a fabulous evening with Hubby–dinner & the ballet * lots of basketball games

From the kitchen ~ chicken pot pie * left-over shrimp & orzo * ham & potato casserole

Noticing that ~ the plans I have for my days are often different than what God’s plans for my day are.   Resting in the knowledge that He is in control!

From the classroom ~ week 1 of our next 6-week period * starting Omnibus IV & driver’s ed curriculum

One of my favorite things ~ date night with Hubby 

A few plans for the week ~ lots of staying home * homeschool co-op * painting window trim
