On my  mind… possible brain surgery for my mom

Looking forward to…Marine Corps Ball on Saturday * Thanksgiving week off * a day trip with hubby

I am hearing…the sounds of breakfast being made.

I am smelling…apple butter in the crock-pot * oatmeal with cinnamon.

I am thinking…how majestic is His Creation!

I am remembering…a colonial Saturday * early morning coffee on the front porch with hubby * family Bible study on the Law and the Gospel

Memories from last week…grandma flying home * black-tie banquet with hubby & farewell luncheon with his co-workers * success for daughter at sewing expo

I am looking forward to…normal school routine * finishing the  painting on the garden shed * our local Fall Festival this weekend

Right now…I’m enjoying a few quiet moments before my day begins.

I am hearing…the pitter-patter of socked feet coming down the stairs * someone in the shower * birds singing outside

I am thinking…of buying running shoes for my son * about the cleaning jobs that need to be done this week * what meals to plan

I am remembering…a lovely evening away with my husband and friends * a busy weekend of errands & chores

I am thankful for…my many blessings * a hard-working husband and children * having my mother-in-law with us for a visit * new furniture * clean siding on the house

From the garden…radishes * smaller okra harvests * pea shoots * cauliflower & cabbages growing nicely

From the school room… finishing up another six-week session and looking forward to a week off!

I am pondering…paint colors for great room and kitchen * sofa choices * carpet ideas * a diminishing decorating budget!

I am remembering…a productive weekend of cleaning & gardening * morning chats on the front porch with famly * bouncing on the trampoline * dinner with friends * 4H night at the county fair

I am thankful for…being home * a clever husband who can fix just about anything * family Bible study

Around the house…fresh veggies from the garden * remnants of yardwork on the porch * dog hair to be vacuumed off the floor

I am reading…Unto the End by Isabella Alden & Truth War by John MacArthur…still

I am hoping…this cooler weather will continue until the AC is fixed * Jesus returns for His Bride soon!

I am thinking…that the rain is quite welcomed after such hot, humid temperatures the past few weeks.

I am thankful for…weekend naps * family games * trampolines * God’s grace & mercy * homeschool * our new mattress * friends

I am hearing…the ceiling fan * the quiet of the early morning

Around the house…a much tidier house than this time last week!

From the kitchen…less refined sugar * another attempt at salsa * experiments with bread using home-milled flour * barbecued ribs * lots of fresh cantaloupe

I am remembering…a dinner party with friends * Saturday storms * my husband’s 10-miler * quiet time on the front porch

From the learning rooms…lesson plans for the next two weeks * community college course for daughter starts * ordering curriculum that didn’t get done last week!

I am hoping…my mother’s surgery is successful * to get four days of exercise in this week * to have an obedient heart to God’s will for my life

Around the house…suitcases to unpack * a messy house to clean * mail to sort * the dog stretched out in peaceful slumber

I am hoping…to get back into my exercise routine * my father-in-law’s heart surgery to be successful * to accomplish lots of chores today

From the learning rooms…back to lessons for another six weeks * a new logic curriculum * organizing supplies & ordering books

From the garden…vine-ripe tomatoes * sweet cantaloupes * prepping soil for fall crops * shed painting
